What BMW do you have, and why is a valve cover gasket the end of the world? For reference, GM valve cover gaskets can leak too.

Gotcha. I’m not familiar with the gasket design of the N52, compared to the direct-injected N54. My 335i needed a VC gasket after four years/70 k miles, no idea how it survived afterward as I parted with the car . They are BMW gaskets, not aftermarket? The only aftermarket gaskets I’ve had any luck with are the higher -end Fel-Pro ‘blue’ gaskets, their regular stuff has leaked on me before, but every car I’ve used those on have worked well .

I can understand being ‘done’ with a car though. Especially with the same issue cropping up time after time.

What VCG did you use/recommend/not recommend? I need to change mine and figured you’d have insight if this is the 3rd one this year.
